EMERGENCY TRAVEL PROGRAM
In 1994 when agencies
expressed a need for travel for their clients throughout the
year, the Home for the Holidays Project expanded and now
encompasses the Emergency Travel Project.
This project provides
transportation of immediate family and special friends (within
reason) to funerals of people with AIDS, transportation of
remains for burial, or the transportation of caregivers to the
Metroplex to assist in the care of people living with AIDS..
Through the Emergency
Travel Project:
-
We were able to
unite families from San Salvador, El Salvador; Monterey,
Mexico; Leon, Mexico; and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
-
We brought caregivers to Dallas.
-
We sent people home in air ambulances to
die in hospice care in their home cities with their
families.
-
We provided travel for remains of clients
so they could be buried in their native land.
-
We sent loved ones to funerals.

receive benefits from our Home for the Holidays/Emergency Travel
